Free muesli, cheap toys, a free coffee and a few money-saving bits worth knowing about.
HELP SAVE MONEY 💗
Little ways to save, make extra money and enjoy life for less.
Hello!
Happy Monday!
It’s time for another little round-up of ways to save money, grab a freebie or make your money go a bit further.
I’ve been having a look through MoneySavingExpert and the latest deals this week, and there are a few worth checking out. Including a couple of supermarket freebies, a bank account offer and some early Christmas bargain hunting.
As always, please don’t buy something just because it’s on offer. A bargain is only a bargain if it’s something you’d actually use!
MAKE A BIT EXTRA
Get £25 for opening a Starling account
If you’ve been thinking about opening a new bank account, MoneySavingExpert is currently highlighting a £25 offer from Starling.
New customers need to apply through the MSE link using a mobile, open the account and spend at least £25 on the debit card within 30 days. The £25 is then paid into the account within 30 days.
You don’t need to switch your existing bank account to qualify.
As always, check the full eligibility requirements before applying, and only open an account if it’s useful to you.

A little side hustle reminder
If you’re looking for ways to bring in some extra money, don’t forget about paid market research, mystery shopping and selling things you no longer use.
I always think it’s worth exploring a few different options rather than assuming you need to start a whole business to make a bit extra.
Just remember to check the time involved, payment terms and eligibility before signing up.
DEALS, DISCOUNTS & FREEBIES
FREE tofu, or very nearly free!
There’s also a cashback offer on a 280g pack of Tofoo & Co Naked Tofu.
You can claim up to £2.30 back when buying from participating branches of Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco, Co-op, Waitrose or Ocado.
Prices vary by supermarket. When checked, it was £1.70 at Ocado and £1.77 at Asda, meaning you could get it free after cashback. At some other supermarkets, it costs a little more than the cashback amount.
You’ll need to register through Hashting, buy the product within the claim window and upload your receipt.
Deadline: 31 October 2026, or when the redemption limit is reached.

If you’re starting to think about Christmas presents, Smyths has an offer worth checking.
There’s up to 50% off selected toys online and in stores until Monday 2 November.
Stock and prices can change, so compare prices elsewhere before buying. Online delivery starts at £2.99, or is free on orders of £20 or more.

FREE tea or coffee at Waitrose
A handy one if you’re passing a participating Waitrose!
Members of myWaitrose can get one free regular tea or coffee per day from selected in-store self-service machines when they bring their own reusable cup.
You can choose from drinks including tea, Americano, cappuccino and latte. Hot chocolate, mocha and espresso aren’t included.
You’ll need to sign up for a free myWaitrose loyalty card and check that your local store participates.

FREE tickets to the Homebuilding & Renovating Show

The tickets normally cost up to £12 online. You can register for two free tickets using the special link, subject to availability.
The Harrogate ticket deadline is 3pm on 29 October, although the free allocation could run out earlier.
There are seminars, masterclasses and advice on home improvements, energy efficiency and budgeting.

GET YOUR MONEY WORKING HARDER
Have you checked your bank account lately?
The Starling offer above is one to consider if you want a new account, but don’t overlook your existing accounts either.
A few minutes checking your savings rate, mobile tariff or energy deal could be more valuable than spending hours chasing tiny discounts.
And remember: a bank bonus isn’t worth it if the account doesn’t suit you or the eligibility conditions aren’t right for you.
USEFUL WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
MoneySavingExpert’s supermarket coupon page
If you’re not already using this page, it’s worth bookmarking.
It brings together cashback offers, grocery coupons, new-customer delivery deals and other supermarket savings in one place.
I like having one page to check before shopping rather than trying to remember which app has which offer.

YOUR FIVE-MINUTE MONEY CHECK
Here’s your little money task for the week:
☐ Check your bank balance and any upcoming bills.
☐ Look through your supermarket loyalty apps before shopping.
☐ Check whether any cashback offers apply to things you already buy.
☐ Review one subscription or household bill.
☐ Put any money you’ve saved towards something you actually want.
You don’t need to overhaul your finances in one day. Little checks can make a difference over time.
6. 😏 THE FRUGAL GIGGLE
Me: I’m not buying anything this week.
Also me: I’ve just saved £17 on something I wasn’t planning to buy in the first place.
Sometimes the best saving is closing the shopping app and going for a walk instead!
BEFORE YOU GO…
That’s your little round-up for this week!
A quick reminder: deals can disappear, prices can change, and cashback offers may run out before their advertised deadline. Always check the terms before spending anything.
If you spot a brilliant freebie or money-saving trick, I’d love to hear about it. Just hit reply and tell me!!
And if you found this week’s email useful, feel free to forward it to someone who loves a bargain as much as we do.
